Hello, I use office 365 business premium for my MSO licensing. Periodically I have an employee leave the company, and a new employee is assigned the existing computer.
Quickbooks 2016 for mac date is wrong. It is not a viable option for keeping track of your business. If you take a salary from your business as an employee, Quicken Essentials for Mac is a good choice for tracking your personal finances.
Old employee's o365 account is terminated, new account is set up and given bizprem license. New user logs onto computer with their new domain creds, creates new computer profile etc all normal. Open an MSO program and it says there's a problem with license, click to reactivate etc. To date the only thing I have found that works is uninstalling office, and reinstalling it from the new user's OWA. SURELY there is a way to just switch the licensee?
Reinstalling isn't that big an issue at the office where I have super fast internet, but if I bring work home with me it's annoying to have to do on 15mbps internet. Any other ideas?Can you provide a screen shot? It sounds like you've got O365 installed and registered to the 'belongs to' person, but being used by another person. You can use it under a different name until it times out, which is 30 days I think. But if you fully sign out and sign back in it should change both of those to match. Technically speaking, if you purchase 50 user tenant, you can use it for 50 users simultaneously. If some one not going to use the license or need to remvoe the user, you can reassign Office 365 license either by 1.
Deleteing the user from Office Admin Center. This will automatically delete a subscription, and your subscription count increase by one, and on adding another user it will be reused. When you don't want to use Office Application for a user you can revoke the license from him by editing Home ---> Users --> Product Licenses tab, make it off. On Desktop machine, do switch account. Edited Aug 31, 2016 at 11:58 UTC. I've seen this happen a number of times when Office was installed originally for one user then switched to another. Sign out, sign in with the new user account and all is well.
A few weeks later it starts complaining about it being unlicensed or whatever. Signout/Signin again and the problem is fixed for good. That 'belongs to' thing appeared in Office 2016 and haven't really looked into it. By this time, the old user has been removed completely so there isn't a way to remove anything from the old account. This worked for me for the incorrect Office 365 / Outlook 'belongs to' name and the 'We've run into a problem with your Office 365 Subscription.' I run into issue every now and again. Signing out and then in as a different user doesn't change the 'belongs to' status.
And you can't sign in as the belongs to person, and deactivate, because that account is dead and gone. The person left. They no longer have an O365 account to log into. Deprovisioning the license in O365 portal as O365 admin isn't possible for the same reason.
That user no longer exists. Performing an online repair usually solves the issue for us. Kind of a hassle, but I suspect no more than running those scripts, and beats a full uninstall/reinstall.

I then assigned their old computer to another user, but then realized the O365 Premium install was still tied to the old user account. No way to deactivate it from the portal since I had already removed the license AND deleted the account (had I deleted without first removing the license, maybe, but I specifically removed the license, THEN deleted from AD, then synced to the portal). Ran the cscript under my admin account, and then launched O365 as the new user.and it prompted the new user account to activate O365.
