Hello, I am having the same issue. The 2012 version of Skype was the last version to see my Startech SVID2USB23 USB capture device. I have taken your advice and installed Classic Skype, just now. Skype is now seeing the Startech device in the audio settings. It allows me to select USB 2861 Device as the microphone, so thats good.

The EZ Cap software that comes with the device sees the Sony handycam that I happen to be using.

I can see what the camera sees on my computer screen. Skype 2012 worked with this setup. The current Skype does not work at all with this. The current Skype Classic sees the audio device portion of the Startech device, not the video. So the device works, just not with the current versio n of Skype.
